About
Learn about SaaS Shift’s editorial approach, how we write articles, and how we think about affiliates.
About this site
SaaS Shift is an independent media outlet that researches overseas SaaS and AI tools that first gained traction abroad, and explains how they can be used in Japanese business settings. We are not part of any company, and we do not take editorial direction from the vendors of the services we cover.
For overseas tools, official docs and community discussion are usually in English. Translating a feature overview is one thing; understanding what changes when you map it onto Japanese business practices and workflows is another. Bridging that gap is what this site is for.
Topics we cover
- AI Search / GEO ― How generative AI produces answers, and how to think about getting your information included
- AI Tools ― Features and use cases for overseas AI services that work in real workflows
- Automation ― Workflow integrations and SaaS combinations that cut manual work
- Marketing ― Tools that support SEO, content, and ads
- Productivity ― Docs, task management, and communication
- SaaS Reviews ― Individual products—features, pricing, and fit
How we write articles
Start from primary sources
We write articles after checking primary sources such as official docs, blogs, and pricing pages. We avoid relying only on other media summaries, and we cite the sources we use in the article.
Hands-on testing when possible
When a free plan or trial is available, we generally write after using the product ourselves where feasible. We can’t deeply test every tool under long-term, real-world conditions. We note in each article whether we tried it and how far we checked. We never claim we tried something we didn’t.
Don’t overclaim what we can’t verify
Especially around generative AI and search, public specs are limited and much cannot be verified from the outside. On those topics, we separate confirmed facts from speculation. We don’t use language that guarantees results.
Keep updating
SaaS pricing and features change often. When things change, we update the article and show the update date at the top. Always confirm the latest pricing and specs on each service’s official site.
About affiliates
We may join affiliate programs to cover operating costs. If a service is signed up for through a link in an article, we may receive a commission—at no extra cost to you.
Whether we earn a commission—and how much—never changes our evaluation or conclusions.Even for services we can earn from, we write about poor fits and weaknesses. We also do not accept payment in exchange for favorable reviews.
Articles that include affiliate links disclose that at the top of the body. For details, see Affiliate Disclosure.
